Principal's Welcome
Welcome to the Briagolong Primary School website and thank you for considering our wonderful school. I am extremely proud to be the Principal of a school that has an extended history of providing a solid education for the town of Briagolong and surrounds and which is so strongly supported by the local community.
Established in 1871, Briagolong Primary School is a well-resourced school situated at the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, 32km north of Sale. This location has provided the inspiration for our motto ‘At the foothills of learning, striving for the mountains’.
At Briagolong Primary School, we strive for excellence in academic achievement and promote the development of the whole child through a strong curriculum. We educate our students to be enthusiastic, curious learners who know and understand themselves as individuals and encourage them to be actively involved within the local community.
The school values of Resilience, Integrity and Ambition are strongly felt across the school and are taught in every classroom.
Our school climate is one that fosters personal and social growth. Learning takes place through purposeful, structured curriculum, developed in a safe, happy and supportive environment. This contributes towards the development of independent, confident and resilient learners.
In addition to our curriculum we have a rich and stimulating visual and performing arts program that includes a bi-annual production and school choir, strongly encourage active involvement in physical education, and provide support and intervention programs as well as large spacious school grounds with stunning views. We have active student leaders and provide opportunities for many leadership roles. Our Grade 6 students participate in a Leadership Camp and take on roles throughout the school including Captaincy, Action Teams, House Captains and more.
As Principal I am proud to lead the Briagolong Primary School community and look forward to you joining us. The dedicated staff and I are available to assist both you and your child with any queries you may have. We greatly value the assistance families can provide in ensuring our school continues to maintain the highest possible standard for each and every one of our students. We welcome volunteers into our school to share their experience and expertise and be part of our students’ journey.
