Art

At Briagolong Primary, our Art curriculum nurtures creativity and self-expression in students. Students are immersed in experiences with otu local art gallery to assist them in exploring a diverse range of artistic mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and crafts. Students develop fundamental art skills, learn about famous artists, and engage in imaginative projects that encourage individuality. They also explore cultural and historical art perspectives. This curriculum aims to foster a deep appreciation for the arts, enhance fine motor skills, and encourage students to communicate through visual means. It empowers students to embrace their creativity, building a foundation for a lifelong journey of artistic exploration. 

Digital Technologies

Students at Briagolong PS are equipped with essential tech skill through their participation in our Digital Technologies curriculum. It covers computer literacy, coding, digital safety, and problem-solving. Students engage in hands-on activities, exploring hardware and software, as well as creating basic programs. They learn to use technology responsibly, fostering digital citizenship. This curriculum prepares students for the digital age, where technology proficiency is vital. It nurtures logical thinking, creativity, and adaptability, laying the foundation for future innovation and success in our increasingly digital world. 

Kitchen & Gardening

At Briagolong Primary, we believe in hands-on initiatives that connects students with the fundamentals of food, nutrition, and sustainability. Through our Kitchen and Gardening program, students learn to grow and harvest their own produce in school gardens, gaining an appreciation for nature and sustainable practices. They also engage in cooking activities, discovering the joy of preparing wholesome meals. This unique curriculum promotes environmental awareness, healthy eating habits, and teamwork. It instills valuable life skills and encourages students to make informed choices about food and the environment, fostering a lifelong connection with nature and nutritious eating. 

P.E.

Our Physical Education program aims to promote the holistic development of our students. We work in partnership with the Sporting in Schools Program to offer students opportunities to receive specialised coaching from experts in a variety of sporting disciplines.  Our programs encompass a range of activities such as sports, fitness, and health education. Through engaging in physical challenges, students are encouraged to build teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical fitness. They learn about the importance of a healthy lifestyle, including nutrition and exercise. This curriculum aims to instill a love for physical activity, emphasizing the significance of lifelong well-being. It empowers students to make informed choices about their health, while also fostering skills and values that transcend the playing field, nurturing responsible, active citizens. 

Performing Arts

Our Performing Arts curriculum is a dynamic platform for students to explore creativity and self-expression. It includes music, drama, and dance, fostering artistic abilities and self-confidence. Students participate in a variety of performances, from plays to musical recitals, and learn the importance of teamwork, discipline, and stage presence. This curriculum promotes cultural awareness and emotional intelligence through the arts. It encourages students to embrace their individuality and showcases the power of artistic expression, laying the groundwork for a lifelong love of performing arts and the development of well-rounded individuals. 

S.T.E.M.

S.T.E.M. classes at Briagolong Primary are designed to foster a strong foundation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. They integrate hands-on activities, problem-solving, and critical thinking to ignite students' curiosity. Topics include basic scientific principles, computer literacy, simple engineering projects, and mathematical concepts. Through age-appropriate experiments and projects, students are supported in developing practical abilities and a sound understanding of the S.T.E.M. disciplines, preparing them for a future where these skills are essential. Our goal is to inspire a lifelong love for S.T.E.M. and equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for success in the 21st century.
