Leadership

Briagolong Primary School embraces leadership and we are proud of the range of opportunities we offer for students to develop and practice their leadership skills.

From Prep, students are actively encouraged to be positive role models, demonstrate our school values, positively influence others, and initiating productive change in our school and community.

Our leadership programs start immediately in Junior School through our Student Action Team (SAT). One student from each grade is selected as representative to plan activities and events they wish to conduct for the school. Some highly successful events that have been organised by our SAT representatives are our popular Colour Run, School Fate, Special Morning Teas, and regular themed Discos.

We endeavor our students to be mindful and responsible consumers of our planet, and to take responsibility knowing that by choosing to make environmentally friendly choices, they are positively contribute to Earth. In our Middle School, students are representatives of our Green Team. Our Green Team ensure effective recycling is fluent throughout the school as well as grow and manage our healthy worm farm.

In Senior School, students undertake an application process to be selected for a number of Leadership Roles. Roles include School Captains, House Captains and other opportunites as they arise. At the commencement of Year 6, students embark on our traditional Leadership Camp which consists of camping overnight in a bush setting. The camp enables students to gain valuable valuable experience in independent thinking, problem solving, individual and group organisation as well as team building skills.
